Crochet an open mesh handbag with round ring handles using 3mm cord and a 6mm hook. The airy scalloped mesh is built with loop stitches worked over an ordinary plastic card, then twisted into arcs — a broomstick-lace effect that needs no special tool beyond a gift card you already own.

The finished bag measures 9½ inches long by 4 inches wide by 11 inches tall, and takes two 4½-inch circular handles. Optional metal feet keep the base off the ground; a tassel pendant finishes it.

Four stitches total: chain, single crochet, slip stitch, and loop stitch. It's rated beginner because nothing in it is technically difficult — but the loop-stitch row is an unusual motion.
